Contents IP Licensing
Contents IP Licensing
What is Content IP? Content IP refers to the application and expansion of traditional intellectual property concepts—such as patents, design rights, trademarks, and copyrights—to creative works. It represents a collection of intellectual property rights that enables the diversification of genres and the development of ancillary businesses based on content.
Japan is a cultural content powerhouse in Asia, consistently ranking among the top nations in various soft power indices. Its global competitiveness extends beyond film, drama, and music to include subcultures such as manga, animation, games, and characters. In terms of influence, recognition, scale, and export value, Japan is second only to the United States.
APU leverages Japan’s outstanding soft power to develop its content IP licensing business. Through this, we apply the OSMU (One Source Multi Use) strategy to connect original content across multiple media and genres. Additionally, we enable Korean companies to utilize content in the creation of products and services while offering diverse business models that help copyright holders realize economic benefits.
